Distal Reality Privacy Policy

Distal Reality (“Distal Reality,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you when you visit www.distalreality.com, www.vringapp.com, and www.vringapp.net, use our mobile application vring, or use our other products and services that include an authorized link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”), how we use the information we collect, with whom we share it, how we protect it, and the choices we offer you regarding our collection and use of such information.

We may collect personal information about you, meaning information that can uniquely identify you, from various sources, such as:
- Directly from you when you use the Services, such as when you register for an account, access certain features or content, or sign up for a subscription;
- Social networks through which you may interact with us; and
- Our service providers, business partners, and other third parties.
The personal information we collect about you may include, without limitation:

We have implemented measures intended to protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. All information you provide to us is securely stored, with critical information encrypted. All vrings transmissions will be encrypted. Please note that the electronic transmission of information is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place to safeguard personal information will never be defeated or fail, or that such measures will always be sufficient or effective. Promotional Communications
We do not use your email for identification or for any other purpose unless you initiate the contact by emailing us. We do not promote our product or services over email. Some correspondence between you and our business will be through your phone number. If you do not want us to use your phone number to promote our own products or services, you can opt out by sending us an email stating your request to [email protected]. If you have received a promotional text from us, you can also opt out of receiving future promotional texts by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in such a text.

- Accessing and CHANGING Your Information
You can review and change the personal information associated with your account, including your haptic handle, by logging into your account on the mobile application and visiting the profile. The only way to change your contact information (phone number) is to remove your account and or register another. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our Services who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email.
- Your UK and European Union Rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), you may be subject to additional protections and rights under applicable data privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include the right to:
